The iOS platform supports group creation only on the local device/iPhone and not on say Hotmail or Exchange. If your default account for Contacts happens to be something like Hotmail or Exchange. you will not be able to create groups.
To create groups and make the most of the powerful groups feature in addappt, you will need to change the default account of your contacts in Settings to your iPhone.
Setting your default account
- Open the Settings app.
- Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars and scroll down to Contacts. [You will only see the Default Account option if you're syncing more than one account]
- Select Default Account.
- Select ‘All on My iPhone’
Now go back to addappt and you will be able to create groups.
BUT, for this to work seamlessly, groups and contacts need to have the same source. All your existing contacts had been created using another source (Exchange, Hotmail or something else you were using) and the new group you just created, using your iPhone.
To make it work, create a brand new contact (with your current default account setting as ‘All on my iPhone’) - you will be able to add this to your newly created group.
